April Spring Break Get Skills Camp 6-12 YRS

This camp is offered during:
April 3-7
April 10-13
April 17-21

This special Get Skills multi-sport camp will feature a variety of sports and activities chosen with help from you! During registration you will get to list your children’s favorite sports which will be taken into consideration to customize camp activities. Get Skills camp, the ultimate multi-sport experience, will include such activities as ice skating, indoor rock climbing, fundamental movement games and traditional sports.

Multi-Sport

Sport Tots Camp 4-5 YRS

Fun activities at this camp will introduce children to sport. The focus will be on developing fundamental movement skills like throwing, running, jumping, catching, balance and coordination. Traditional sports such as baseball, soccer and basketball will be modified to match the development level of participants.

Tumble Tots Camp 4-5 YRS

This camp includes bouncing, somersaults, cartwheels and more! Tumble Tots will introduce body awareness and physical movement fundamentals. Through game play, camp activities will focus on developing running, jumping, rolling, balance and coordination.

Get Skills 6-7 & 8-10 YRS

This Camp is the ultimate multi-sport experience~ kids will take part in a variety of Oval activities from climbing on our indoor rock wall to traditional sports such as soccer, basketball, badminton and plenty of fun game; it will be an action packed week.

Get Skills 11-12 YRS

The Oval takes Get Skills to the next level! This older age group will focus on refining fundamental movement skills in specific sports and challenging participants to accomplish skills in diverse situations. A greater focus will be on outdoor sports such as rugby, beach volleyball and ultimate frisbee.

Outdoor Athlete Camp 13-15YRS

An ultimate week of adventure! Participants will test their athletics in outdoor pursuits on two local mountains visiting Grouse Mountain for ziplining and ice skating and Cypress Mountain for snow shoeing and tubing. Additionally youth will learn unique sports of rowing, climbing and ultimate frisbee. Through the course of the week participants will get introduced to climbing at the Oval’s indoor rock climbing wall and become belay certified.

Racquet, Paddle n’ Putter Camp 6-9 YRS

Learn the proper movements associated with badminton, table tennis, progressive tennis and golf – all sports that utilize hand-eye coordination and striking skills.

Badminton Blast Camp 9-15 YRS

Blast your skills to the next level in this camp for both beginners and advanced players. This camp will provide instruction on the rules of the game while challenging players’ abilities.

Figure Skating Prep Camp Combo 6-12 YRS, GIRLS

Dance & Cheer Camp paired with Learn to Skate Camp is a perfect combination to learn the basic skills required for figure skating. In the morning, Dance & Cheer Camp will have participants moving to the beat by learning musicality, choreography and rhythm. Then, in the afternoon, participants will move to Learn to Skate Camp to focus on fundamental skating skills such as gliding, edge control and skating backwards.

Hockey Cross-Training Power Camp Combo 9-12 YRS

Calling all hockey players! The ultimate cross-training activities to advance your skills while having a blast. Originating in Europe, many European born NHL players use Floorball in their off-season to keep their skills sharp. Floorball Skills Camp will focus on stick handling skills, creative playmaking, passing and shooting.

Presented in partnership with Panther Cheer, this camp is a must-do for any cheer or dance fan! Performing with popular upbeat music in a fun and enjoyable environment, young athletes will concentrate on chants, high energy dance moves, flexibility and strength.

This camp is designed specifically to meet the needs of girls. Activities will focus on sports and physical activities which are traditionally female-oriented such as Rhythmic Gymnastics, Synchronized Swimming, Cheer Leading and Figure Skating.

Learn to Golf Camp 6-12 YRS

The Richmond Oval has partnered with Zone Golf Academy to provide an introductory camp over March break. This camp will provide players the opportunity to develop knowledge and appreciation for the sport of golf. Throughout this camp athletes will learn proper technique for putting, pitching, chipping and full swing while using a variety of different golf clubs.

Hockey Skills Development Camp 6-9 YRS

This camp is intended for beginner to intermediate players with some hockey experience. Skill-intensive drills in a fun and upbeat style will build strong fundamental skills of power skating, puck handling, passing, and shooting.

Learn to Row Camp 13-15 YRS

The camp is designed for those new to rowing. Learn the basics of the stroke sequence and blade work in our state-of-the-art indoor rowing tank and on ergometers (rowing machines). Trips to the UBC Boathouse will allow young athletes to transfer their skills while training in the UBC stoneboat.

Learn to Skate 6-12 YRS

Complete your Learn to Skate levels at Camp! Participants will skate an average of an hour per day which is the equivalent of two full skating lessons. Qualified Learn to Skate Instructors will teach skills and give campers the opportunity to practice through fun ice games.

Atomic Volleyball – Spring Break Camp

Spring break Camp is a one-week camp that will allow athletes to improve their skills while their competition takes a holiday. Atomic Volleyball is for those who already enjoy the game of volleyball or those just being introduced to the sport.

Performance Development Spring Break Camp will allow athletes to improve their skills while their competition takes a holiday.  Performance Development Volleyball is designed for those athletes who are interested in learning more about the game and focusing on their skill development.

Extra supervision

AM (8-9am), Lunch (12-1pm), and PM (4-5pm) Supervision

Need a little flexibility in your schedule? Our Extra Supervision time will keep your Oval Kid busy with interactive games, sporting activities or an opportunity to have some free time, all supervised by our experience camp leaders. Lunch Supervision is free if you register for two half-day camps during the same week.

Cross Training Combo/Power Skating

For Participants in Power Skating Camp ending in the afternoon at 2:30pm who want to extend their camp day until 4:00pm, this hour and a half of camp will feature multi-sport activities, joining in with the Get Skills Camp.

MULTI-CAMP  DISCOUNTS are applied to all second or more camps of equal or lessor value. Supervision & Camp Combos are not eligible for this discount. Please Note: Registration discounts must be made in person or over the phone at time of registration; this discount type is not available online.
All Spring Break Camps are non-refundable or transferable after March 1
