Specialty Rooms
Specialty Rooms are categorized as such due to their customized design for specific uses. Rooms in this category include the Legacy Room, Spinning/Rowing Room, Rowing/Paddling Tank, Kinesis Room, and Fitness Centre. Legacy Room The Legacy Room is a 5000 square foot facility for banquets or meetings and is rentable for events on a half-day or full-day basis only. Additional fees for in-room technical staff, audio-visual elements, and set-up may apply. Legacy Room Spinning/Rowing Room The Spinning/Rowing Room features 16 50” plasma screen TVs in a four by four matrix designed to simulate an outdoor environment. An instructor must be present during use of this room, adding an hourly instructor fee to the rental rate. This room is rentable on an hourly, daily or 24-hour basis for sport use, and on half-day or full-day basis for events. Indoor Rowing Tank The Indoor Rowing Tank is equipped to train high performance athletes and is currently the only room of its caliber in Canada. An instructor must be present during use, adding an hourly instructor fee to the rental rate. This room is rentable on an hourly, daily, or 24-hour basis. The Kinesis Room The Kinesis Room is the smallest of the Specialty Rooms, with capacity for approximately 20 people and up to three banks of kinesis equipment. An instructor is mandatory in this room, adding an additional hourly instructor fee to its rental rate. The Kinesis Room can be rented on an hourly, daily or 24-hour basis. The Fitness Centre The Fitness Centre is a 8,000 square foot fitness facility and is only available for rental in special cases (such as filming) on a daily or 24-hour basis.
The Multi-Purpose Rooms at the Richmond Oval are equipped for a variety of uses including sports programs, corporate and community events, trade shows and meetings. Room features include sinks, counters, stoves, AV equipment, computers, tables, chairs, and storage units to accommodate anything from a small fitness class of 15 participants, to a cooking class for 20, or even a presentation for 100. Multi-Purpose Rooms are rented on a half-day or full-day basis, with rates dependent on room size and amenities. Additional rental fees apply for janitorial, facility attendant and instructor services. Sport partners and community associations may be eligible for discounted rental rates. The Richmond Oval Rink is the equivalent of three hockey rinks and can be rented on the hourly or per-skater basis, with differing rates according to season. Rental can be exclusive or non-exclusive and can include access to the weight room. Additional fees apply for staffing and equipment rental.
The Court Zone is available for sport use rental on an hourly or daily basis. Rental rates differ according to time slot (prime or non-prime) and age group (adult or youth). Additional fees apply for use of a facility attendant, or equipment such as a score clock or bleachers.
