Following the Oval’s Games Hosting period from December 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 -- during which the facility will be closed to regular public programming -- the Oval will undergo a metamorphosis and re-emerge as an international centre of excellence for sports, health and wellness. In Spring 2010 the Oval will re-open with a limited service offering, beginning first with group fitness and then opening an expanded Fitness Centre. Filling out the rest of the venue’s 3 levels and 512,000 square feet will likely continue until the end of Summer 2010. For Canada’s high performance athletes, the communities of Vancouver and Richmond, plus the Oval’s own membership base, it will be well worth the wait.
