Female Pro Development Program *OFF SEASON- Powered by Rock Hockey

OvalHP & Rock Hockey will be offering an exclusive summer hockey development program for high performance female hockey players this summer. Our program has been designed for dedicated and motivated players ready to put in the work this summer to reach new levels of skills on the ice, strength & conditioning and performance.

Program Overview

The on-ice session approach will be individualized and each athlete will be provided with personalized feedback and instant video review. Athletes will work with professional coaches in a small group setting and will receive detailed technical instruction needed to accelerate skill acquisition and improve performance. Players will be able to make adjustment within the session, optimizing execution within each rep. Our instructions during each session will prepare each athlete to transfer the skills they have learned to their game play and situational awareness. As players learn to perform skills with speed and consistency, it will translate into confidence and lead to on-ice production.

Strength & conditioning sessions will be led by the OvalHP Coaches in our dedicated High Performance Centre. The Oval takes a scientific and individualized approach to off season strength and conditioning. The offseason is the time to progressively and purposefully prepare to perform at your best at tryouts and during the season.

Oval S&C Coaches approach off season training in a phased training approach to meet the following objectives:

  • Help the body and mind recover from last season’s games by addressing any acute or nagging issues, strength imbalances, instabilities and mobility issues through corrective exercises.
  • Develop a strong stable foundation of movement and athleticism progressing to focused speed and agility training
  • Develop an enhanced base of strength from which to develop greater power
  • Energy system development (ESD)
  • Enhanced focused on recovery and regeneration methods

Oval S&C coaches work with each player to ensure that training sessions complement the demands of summer on-ice activities with Rock Hockey. Strength and Conditioning sessions will be prescribed to taper as
athlete’s approach try out dates.
