Oval Spring Break Camps offer more variety and provide opportunities for young sport enthusiasts, around Metro Vancouver.

Spring Break Camps run during the weeks of March 18-22, 25-29 and April 1-5, 8-12 & 15-18



Explorer Tots Camp 4-5YRS, CO-ED

Oval Explorer Tots will experience it all: multi-sport games, physical movement fundamentals and skating lessons. Come explore the Richmond Olympic Oval. Camp includes skate and helmet rentals.

Sport Tots Camp 4-5YRS, CO-ED

This camp will introduce children to sport and focus on developing fundamental movement skills like throwing, running, jumping, catching, balance and coordination.

Tumble Tots Camp 4-5YRS, CO-ED

This camp includes bouncing, somersaults, cartwheels as well as body awareness and physical movement fundamentals. Through game play, Tumble Tots Camp helps to develop important skills like running, jumping, rolling, balance and coordination.

Get Skills 6-7 & 8-10 YRS

Give your child an action-packed week with the ultimate multi-sport experience. Kids will take part in a variety of Oval activities from climbing on our indoor rock wall, to traditional sports such as soccer, basketball and badminton.

Get Skills 11-12 YRS

This camp takes Get Skills to the next level! Youth will focus on refining fundamental movement skills in specific sports, as well as develop a number of other diverse skills needed to play sport. A greater focus will be on outdoor sports such as rugby, volleyball and ultimate frisbee.

Racquet, Paddle n’ Putter Camp 6-9YRS, CO-ED

Learn the proper movements associated with badminton, table tennis, progressive tennis and golf; all sports that utilize hand-eye coordination and striking skills.

Badminton Blast Camp 9-12YRS & 12-15YRS

Blast your skills to the next level in this camp for both beginners and advanced players. This camp provides instruction on the rules of the game while challenging and elevating players’ abilities.

This Camp will give your child the time to work on technique outside of competitive play. This program is for the developing athlete looking to improve their fielding, throwing and batting skills.

Camp Combo

Figure Skating Prep Camp Combo 6-9YRS & 9-12YRS, GIRLS

Dance & Cheer paired with Learn to Skate is the perfect combination to learn the basic skills required for figure skating. In the morning, Learn to Skate camp will focus on fundamental skills such as gliding, edge control and skating backwards. Campers will skate for an average of one hour per day; the equivalent of two skating lessons. In the afternoon, participants will move to the music in Dance & Cheer learning musicality, choreography and rhythm. Off-ice time during Learn to Skate will feature court games and involve fundamental movement skills. Skates & helmet are included in the camp.

Presented in partnership with Panther Cheer, this camp is a must-do for any cheer or dance fan. Performing to popular upbeat music in a dynamic environment, young athletes will concentrate on chants, high energy dance moves, flexibility and strength.

Develop skills such as stick-handling, passing, receiving, shooting, and game play tactics. Skilled Oval coaches will foster development in a fun and encouraging environment. This camp is a great opportunity to sharpen up on a number of related hockey skills and to try one of the fastest growing sports in Europe.

GO! Girls Only in Motion Camp 6-9YRS & 9-12YRS, GIRLS

This camp is designed specifically girls. Activities will focus on sports that are traditionally female-oriented such as Rhythmic Gymnastics, Cheer Leading and Ice Skating.

Hockey Skills Development Camp 6-9YRS, CO-ED

This camp is intended for beginner to intermediate players with some hockey experience. Skill-intensive drills done in a fun and upbeat style, will build the strong fundamental skills of power skating, puck handling, passing, and shooting. Participants will be on the ice for 60 to 90 minutes.

Power Skating

Entry Power Skating Camp (Entry / Intermediate / Advanced) 6-12YRS, CO-ED

Registrants will learn skating techniques to optimize their stride and maximize power output by improving efficiency, explosiveness and edge control. This camp will be led by experienced Oval coaches. Athletes must be able to skate forwards and backwards with balance and control and stop on either their left or right side.

Learn to Row Camp 13-15YRS, CO-ED

Learn to Row is designed for those new to rowing. Get the basics of the stroke sequence and blade work in the Oval’s indoor rowing tank and on ergometers (rowing machines). Trips to the UBC Boathouse will give young athletes the chance to transfer their skills while training in the UBC stoneboat.

Learn to Skate, 6-9YRS & 9-12YRS, CO-ED

Complete your Learn to Skate levels at Camp. Skate an average of one hour per day; the equivalent of two full skating lessons. Qualified Learn to Skate Instructors will teach skills and give campers the opportunity to practice through fun ice-games.

Brazilian Soccer School Camp 6-9YRS & 9-12YRS, CO-ED

Soccer loving kids get the chance to advance their skills while having fun. The basics of soccer such as ball control, passing and dribbling will be taught. Plus, games designed to expand participants’ agility, balance, coordination and foot dexterity will be played.

Sport Leadership

Active Life & Leadership Camp 11-14YRS, CO-ED

This specialized camp is a combination of awesome sports, fitness activities and sessions focused on leadership development. Campers will not only learn how to belay on the Oval’s indoor rock climbing wall but also participate in other activities such as yoga, orienteering and rowing in the Oval’s specialized indoor rowing tank.

Performance Development 13-15YRS – Spring Break Camp

Performance Development Spring Break Camp will allow athletes to improve their skills outside of competitive play. Performance Development Volleyball is designed for those athletes who are interested in learning more about the game and focusing on their skill development.

Atomic Volleyball 9-12YRS – Spring Break Camp

Spring Break Camp is a one-week camp that will allow athletes to improve their skills outside of competitive play. Atomic Volleyball is for those who already enjoy the game of volleyball or those just being introduced to the sport.

Need a little flexibility in your schedule? Our Before & After Care program will keep your Oval Kid busy with interactive games, sporting activities or an opportunity to have some free time, all supervised by our experience camp leaders. Lunch Supervision is free if you register for two half-day camps during the same week.
