In response to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, we want to provide an update on the Richmond Olympic Oval’s available programs and services in light of the temporary restrictions in place beginning tonight at 10:00pm.
The Oval remains open to members and the community for individual training and sport activities. Bookings for the fitness centre, individual strength and training pods, and drop-in activities such as climbing, table tennis, and basketball will continue with our enhanced cleaning, health and safety protocols in place. Private lessons for programs such as Learn to Skate will also continue at this time.
Until further notice, group fitness classes and organized team sport games will be paused. We are working as quickly as possible with the Public Health Authority in order to submit revised health and safety plans to resume these activities in an approved and safe manner.
Additionally, we are working with all sport organizations who play and train at the Oval in order to review their Safe Return to Sport plans to ensure they are compliant with the new health orders.
Now more than ever, it’s important to maintain a physical distance of 2 metres from your fellow Oval Members when partaking in sport and fitness activities, and ensuring you are wearing a mask within the facility.
As more information becomes available, we will provide updates on Oval programming. Please continue to monitor our website and social media channels for updates.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you soon.
