About this Course

Discover the foundations of strength training with this four-week introductory program.

Under the guidance of veteran personal trainer Ryan Delaney, you’ll learn fundamental exercises and the principles of proper technique for strength training, as well as the use of a variety of strength equipment including dumbbells, barbells and kettlebells. Most importantly, you’ll gain the confidence in your knowledge and ability to continue your fitness journey in a gym setting. Prerequisite: no current injuries.

The Instructor

Ryan Delaney

CFES-PT, NSCA-TSAC-F – Ryan was one of the first eight people in Canada to be certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator, with the specific goal to improve performance and decrease injury of law enforcement and other first responders. His training base encompasses those looking to gain muscle, lose weight and move better – whether you are a police officer, a 9-5 desk jockey, or just want to ‘be the best version of yourself’. Ryan has completed two Performance Mentorships through the world renowned EXOS Athletes Performance, sits on the board of educational advisors with the Canadian Fitness Education Services, and is a prominent educator and coach.‘Sarge’ is constantly striving to keep ahead on new developments in training in order to provide the best possible experience for Oval members and clients.
