Following the revised province-wide restrictions that were modified today by the Provincial Health Officer, we would like to provide an update on our drop-in sport activities and user groups who access the facility.
The order now puts a pause on team sports for all adults over 19 years of age. With this temporary order in place, the following changes have been made to our sport drop-in activities, effective until further notice:
- Individual shooting on our basketball courts is permitted, however 1 on 1 play or group pickup games are prohibited, even if from the same household or bubble.
- Drop-in Table Tennis activities will continue to be singles only booking.
- Drop-in climbing will continue with our enhanced cleaning and safety protocols.
In addition, all adult leagues who use the Oval as their training facility will suspend practices and games until the Provincial Health Order states they may resume.
All youth sport has moved to Phase 2 of the viaSport Return to Sport plan.
As a reminder, masks are required in all areas of the Oval, including the parkade, and may only be removed when engaging in sport and fitness activities.
We thank you for your patience as we continually shift our operations in accordance with the restrictions in place. The health and safety of our members, staff and the community are our first priority, and we will continue to evolve with the guidelines put forward by our Provincial Health Officer.
