At the Richmond Olympic Oval, nothing makes us happier than seeing our community come together. On August 24, we welcomed more than 7,500 of you to Oval Community Day, proudly presented by ASPAC Developments—and the energy at the Oval was unforgettable.
Families, friends, and neighbours explored more than 30 free activities, from sport try-outs and an inflatable obstacle course to 3-on-3 basketball, live performances, and the Olympic Experience. With 30 community partners on site, including eight local sport organizations, participants discovered new ways to stay active, connected, and inspired. In just five hours, over 800 activity stamp cards were submitted, adding up to nearly 4,800 activities completed!
More Than An Event: Building Stronger, Healthier Communities
Oval Community Day was more than a celebration – it was a powerful example of how shared experiences bring people together. Events like these strengthen social bonds, create opportunities for families to be active, and foster a sense of belonging across all ages and backgrounds.
At its heart, the Oval is a gathering place. It’s where people come to move, to connect, and to thrive. And days like Community Day highlight why spaces that unite us are so important for building stronger, healthier lifestyles together.
A big thank you to ASPAC Developments for helping make this special day possible and to every participant, partner, and volunteer who joined us. We can’t wait to do it all again next year at Community Day on August 23, 2026.
