Ice Camps

The coolest camps around! The Oval is home to two Olympic-sized ice rinks which means you get the gold medal experience year-round.

Our refund policy: Participants must withdraw a minimum of 7 days before camp start date – No penalty fee will be charged. If minimum participation is not met, camp will be cancelled and other participants refunded in full. Requests for withdrawals within 7 days of camp start date are at the discretion of the Camp Programmer – No refunds will be issued.

    Get Cool Camps

    In this specialized skating camp, learn and play a variety of different ice sports. With 75 minutes of ice time each day, learn hockey, speed skating, ringette, figure skating and broom ball. Off-ice time will be comprised of different sports such as floor hockey, soccer, field hockey, basketball and more.

    Location: Indoors

    Format: Half-day camps (3 hours)

    Age: 9 to 12 years

    Dates: July 12-16 9am-12pm and July 26-30 9am-12pm

    Cost: $240

    Experience: Skating proficiency required – must be able to skate forwards and backwards, and be able to stop on the ice.

    Required items: warm clothes, gloves, athletic wear, running shoes, water bottle, and snack. Skates, helmet and required equipment will be provided. Hockey gloves are recommended.

    Hockey Fundamentals Camps

    Skill-intensive drills in a fun and upbeat style will build strong fundamental skills of power skating, puck handling, passing, and shooting. 60 to 90 minutes will be spent on the ice. Off-ice time will be comprised of sports such as floor hockey, volleyball, basketball and games focused on fundamental movements skills such as running, jumping, agility, balance and coordination

    Location: Indoors

    Format: Half-day camps (3 hours)

    Age: 6 to 9 years

    Dates: July 12-16 9am-12pm and July 26-30 9am-12pm

    Cost: $260

    Experience: Beginner to intermediate players with previous hockey experience ideally through league play, and have reached a minimum of level 3 in the Oval’s Learn to Skate program or an equivalent program.

    Required items: full hockey gear, hockey stick, athletic wear, running shoes, water bottle and snack.

    Hockey Tots Camps

    Time to start playing hockey! Tots get introduced to Canada’s game through fun activities and games which focus on fundamental skating and hockey skills. Participants will be on ice for an hour each day. Off-ice time will focus on developing fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, throwing, balance, coordination and agility through playing games and traditional sports such as soccer, basketball, and floorball.

    Location: Indoors

    Format: 2-hour camp

    Age: 4 to 5 years

    Dates: July 19-23 9am-11am and Aug 3-6 9am-11am

    Cost: $112-$140

    Experience: Must be able to balance on two feet under own control.

    Required items: full hockey gear, hockey stick, athletic wear, running shoes, water bottle and snack.

    Learn to Skate Camps

    Practice and improve your skating techniques at camp! With an average of one hour on ice per day, learn skating skills and gain practice through fun ice-games. Off-ice time will focus on developing fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, throwing, balance, coordination and agility through playing games and traditional sports such as soccer, basketball, and floorball.

    Location: Indoors

    Format: Half-day camps (3 hours)

    Age: 6 to 9 years and 9 to 12 years

    Experience: None

    Dates: July 5-9, July 19-23, July 26-30, Aug 3-6, Aug 23-27, Aug 30-Sep 3

    Cost: $159.00-$220.00

    Required items: warm clothes when skating, athletic wear, running shoes, water bottle and snack. Skate and helmet rentals included.

    Speed Skate Camps

    The Oval’s High Performance Program offers short track camps for Learn to Train (L2T), Train to Train (T2T), and Learn to Compete (L2C) speed skaters who want to continue improving on their skating technique, overall strength, mental performance, sport-specific race strategy and tactics during the summer months.
