Camp Offerings

3×3 Basketball

FastPaced Fun On The Court! 3×3 Basketball camps introduce young athletes to the world of basketball, developing fundamental movement skills, such as throwing, catching, and agility, in a 3×3 format. An offshoot of traditional basketball, 3×3 basketball shares a lot with the original variant, including ball handling regulations, basic violation rules like goaltending, double dribble, three-second rules, and so on. Campers will learn the rules of the game and build skills. This camp will take place outdoors in halfday formats for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years. 

Badminton Blast

Ace The Court! Badminton camps are fun and educational. This camp, for both beginners and advanced players, will provide instruction on the game’s rules while challenging players’ abilities. Campers will be instructed on fundamental movement skills ranging from serving, strokes, footwork, body positioning and more. This camp will be available for ages 9-12 years and 12-15 years in halfday formats. Racquets will be provided.  

Baseball

Batter Up For A Great Time! Baseball camps are for kids of all abilities to develop their love of the game in a fun learning environment. This camp will focus on teaching and developing skills through practice and game situations with an emphasis on teamwork! Activities will develop fundamental movement skills such as running, throwing, catching and more. Each camper must have their own glove to participate in camp. This camp will take place outdoors in halfday formats for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years. 

Climbing

Reach New Heights! Climbing camps introduce participants to the sport and focus on the fundamentals of climbing safety and technique. During the camp, your child will learn some basic rope work, auto-belay and bouldering safety and be given many chances to climb. The camp will be rounded out with court games and cross-training activities to build fundamental skills like agility, coordination, balance and footwork. This camp will be available for children aged 6 and up in halfday formats. The names Lemurs and Leopards are given to Learn to Climb camps to distinguish each group – activities are the same, and participants of all experience can participate in either.  

Dance

Shake, Shimmy, And Shine! Dance camps are the perfect way to get your young one moving and grooving. Your child will develop gross motor skills and the ability to use their body and feet to achieve a variety of movement challenges. The camp will focus on coordination, rhythm, dexterity and fundamental movement skills like balance and footwork through a variety of dance techniques, musical activities and games. Children of all genders are encouraged to participate. This camp will be available for those aged 4-5 years and 6-9 years in halfday formats. 

Field Hockey

Master The Moves, Own The Field! Field Hockey camps are a great way for campers to learn a new sport and keep fit. Participants will develop both individual techniques, such as stick-handling, passing, receiving, shooting, and teamwork skills through gameplay tactics and team-building challenges. Activities will develop fundamental movement skills such as running, agility, striking and more. All equipment will be provided. This camp will take place outdoors in halfday formats for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years. 

Floorball

Where Fun Meets Skill! Floorball camps are dedicated to developing stick-handling, passing, receiving and shooting skills. Your camper will learn floorball in a fun, encouraging environment and sharpen up on a number of related hockey skills. Activities will develop fundamental movement skills such as running, agility, striking and more. All equipment will be provided This camp will be available for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years in halfday formats. 

Football

Join The Huddle! Flag football camps are the perfect introduction to football for young athletes of all abilities. Through a mix of drills and games, this camp will promote a fun and safe environment to learn the fundamentals of football. Activities will develop fundamental movement skills such as agility, throwing, catching and more! This camp will take place outdoors in halfday formats for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years. 

Golf

Tee Off With Confidence! Golf camps will provide participants the opportunity to develop knowledge and appreciation for the sport of golf. Throughout this camp, young athletes will learn the proper technique for putting, pitching, chipping and full swing while using a variety of different golf clubs provided by First Tee. Not only will camp participants learn fundamental movement skills, this camp will also promotes the First Tee mission to build character and promote life-enhancing values and healthy choices through the game of golf. This camp will take place outdoors in halfday formats for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years. 

Kin-Ball

Together We Win! Kin-Ball camps are for kids of all abilities to participate in sport a fun, learning environment. One of the Oval’s newest camps introduces participants to Kin-Ball. This sport, created in Canada, is a highly team-oriented sport that builds comradery among all participants. A fast-paced sport using an oversized ball, this camp is a great option to develop fundamental movement skills like running, agility and jumping and to have a fun and fit summer. This camp will be available for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years in half day formats. 

Rugby

Scrum, Ruck And Roll! Rugby camps introduce participants to a non-contact form of rugby where players will use flags instead of tackling. Campers will work on individual skills such as passing accuracy and catching technique, as well as work in a team environment to help develop defensive strategies and learn offensive attacking and scoring tactics. This camp focuses on basic rugby principles and fundamental movement skills such as agility, running and catching. This camp will take place outdoors in halfday formats for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years. 

Skateboarding

From Basics To Tricks, Fundamentals To Flips! Skateboarding camps are the best way to take your riding to the next level. Led by instructors from OneLove Skateboard, this camp is for riders of all levels to learn, practice and challenge themselves. With an introduction to the fundamentals of skateboarding, such as the anatomy of the board, foot placement, pushing and stopping as well as some beginner-level tricks, campers will develop their technique and build on fundamental movement skills like balance and coordination. This camp will take place outdoors at the Richmond Skateboard Park in half day formats for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years.  

Soccer

Kickstart Your Skills! Soccer camps aim to promote skill development through a variety of drills, fun soccer-based games and scrimmages. All skill levels are welcome to hone their soccer abilities at our outdoor soccer camp. Campers will be instructed on fundamental movement skills ranging from kicking, running, footwork, body positioning and more. Soft-spike cleats and shin pads are recommended. This camp will take place outdoors in half day formats for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years. 

Table Tennis

Rally To Success! Table tennis camps are fun and educational. This camp will provide instruction on the rules of the game while challenging players’ abilities so children of all levels can participate. Campers will be instructed on fundamental movement skills like serving, striking, and body positioning and hit the court for games and activities to build fundamental skills like agility, coordination, balance and footwork. This camp will be available for children aged 6 and up in half day formats. 

Track and Field

Race, Leap, And Compete! Track & Field Camps are where participants learn the basics of sprints, hurdles, jumping and throwing events. Mini competitions and games will be held throughout the week to add excitement and friendly competition. Participants will also increase fitness levels and strength, bettering all sporting activities. Activities will develop fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, throwing, and more. This camp will have a mix of indoor and outdoor activities and take place in halfday formats for those aged 6-9 years and 9-12 years. 

Volleyball

Serve Up Success! Volleyball camps are one-week camps that will allow athletes to improve their skills while their competition takes a holiday. The camp includes a unique blend of skill-based activities and gameplay development opportunities that will help build fundamental movement skills while improving tactical decisionmaking.
