Basketball Offerings


Basketball Programs Incorporating Strength and Conditioning

Small Group Training

This program is meant to provide athletes with a taste of a high performance training environment by delivering both technical and physical training (speed, strength, jumping, agility) two times per week.

Each training session will provide athletes with an opportunity to work with Oval HP Strength & Conditioning Coaches in the weight room, and Split Second Coaches on the Court. Strength & conditioning coaches will diligently oversee the proper execution of each exercise to ensure every athlete trains safely and finishes the program having a better idea how to improve their athleticism.

Athletes can expect to learn, compete, and be challenged in both the weight room and on court.

No prior weight training experience is required

Basketball Immersion

The Immersion Program is a collaboration between OVALHP, Split Second Basketball and local schools that allows dedicated athletes to take their core academic courses in the mornings and do serious training on weekday afternoons at the Oval.

Players are eligible to participate in Basketball Immersion if they:

  1. Are student-athletes in grade eight through 11 (Sept 2023) with good academic achievement and excellent organizational skills to allow them to have success in this program
  2. Have an academic timetable set up to allow their afternoons available for the program (please see below)
  3. Have met the qualification standards below to ensure a worthwhile and quality experience
  4. Apply and are accepted in the Basketball Immersion Program
